Today we spent the whole day removing old graffiti from the walls of the accommodation containers - a small contribution to making the lives of the people here in the Moria camp on Lesbos a little more beautiful and dignified. Some of us lent a hand, others fortified us with tea, biscuits and thanks.<\/p>\n
During the lunch break, we picked flowers and gave them to helpers and residents, earning the odd smile or \u201eThat was just what I needed\u201c.<\/p>\n
Of course I would prefer to be able to turn the big screws - to ensure that the bureaucratic processes run better so that people are not stuck for two years in a hotspot that is only intended for two or three days.<\/p>\n
That's often the case in life. I would like to see legislation that ensures improved environmental protection. As long as that is not the case, I pick up plastic whenever I can - like I did last night when I picked up 100 pieces on the beach. I may have saved the lives of 5 fish. Better than nothing.<\/p>\n
Removing graffiti and old cords makes life a tiny bit better. It's not as good as big changes, but it's better than nothing at all.<\/p>\n
