Yes!<\/p>\n

What new things have I learnt about life?<\/h3>\n

I\u2019ve been thinking again about what I heard regarding the fundamental desires and fears of the four DISG personality types.<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Dominant type: Independence \/ Being forced<\/li>\n
  • Type of initiative: Acceptance \/ being short-changed<\/li>\n
  • Steady type: Security \/ Being left alone<\/li>\n
  • The conscientious type: doing everything right \/ being corrected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    I find it interesting and insightful.<\/p>\n

    What new things have I learnt about myself?<\/h3>\n

    It\u2019s particularly in this shipbuilding project that I find the support and encouragement from others \u2013 both women and men \u2013 really helps me. Recently, I\u2019ve received two very encouraging emails from some lovely men I know.<\/p>\n

    Someone wrote to me:<\/p>\n

    A ship is incredibly heavy in itself, and it\u2019s hard to believe that it stays afloat and doesn\u2019t sink. But water supports it. That\u2019s down to its design. Just as God designed you. Through it all, through all the ups and downs, he has given you tremendous stamina and resilience. <\/em>
    \nA ship must let itself sink into the water and allow itself to be carried along. It can\u2019t do anything about it. But you, too, can let God carry you forward and move on, step by step. <\/em>
    \nWrite down all the exciting things that happen along the way in your ship\u2019s log, and you\u2019ll experience the coming months as a journey filled with thrilling adventures, times when the storm rages and fear creeps in, and times when the sun shines and you simply feel right at home. <\/em>
    \nYou don\u2019t yet know how long the journey will be. But every day is a new discovery, even if nothing much happens and you just meet people on board, or \u2013 AS IS THE CASE NOW \u2013 you\u2019re on a shore excursion and leaving your ship behind. It\u2019s waiting for you.<\/em>
    \nEventually, the manageable stages of the renovation will give way to the grand journey of completion, seminars and all the other wonderful things.<\/em>
    \nBut that will take a long time.<\/em>
    \nYou\u2019re not alone, because you have some friends who are very close to you and are helping to support your project.<\/em>
    \nAnd the boat is there, floating in the water, and it belongs to you (or the bank), but it\u2019s no different with most of the houses people own.<\/em>
    \nI have great admiration for you. In my eyes, your competence is growing by leaps and bounds.<\/em>
    \nThe woman who builds a ship despite having never set foot on one. That\u2019s a close second to *Dances with Wolves*.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    I wrote to someone else who is like a father to me, even though we only get in touch every few months, telling him that I\u2019d dreamt of meeting him last night. And I asked him to pray for me. He wrote back:<\/p>\n

    Your fragment of a dream doesn\u2019t surprise me. Over the last few weeks, the Spirit has repeatedly prompted me to pray for you. As you can see, the \u201eFather\u2019s blessing\u201c has long since gone before your letter. It\u2019s good that you\u2019ve brought the matter of the ship down to earth. Noah, too, had to build his ark without any special knowledge, but under the guidance of the Spirit. So that\u2019s good for you and for the future home of many. We\u2019ll keep at it!<\/em><\/p>\n

    May you be kept safe, O chosen one of your God! With warm regards<\/em><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
