Yesterday\u2019s passage was:<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201eI am the good shepherd. And I know my own.\u201c (John 14:10).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That really touched me on two levels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>My job = trust:<\/strong> It served as a reminder to me that trust is what\u2019s needed. Sometimes, on the ship, I feel like things aren\u2019t moving fast enough. I\u2019d like to be further along already. Letting go inwardly and trusting that God is already guiding me in the right way is sometimes a real challenge for me\u2026 there\u2019s a saying: \u201eMany people want to serve God \u2013 as advisers!\u201c I\u2019m often one of them. I have a thousand ideas about what He could do faster and better. Letting go, trusting that HE is the Shepherd and gives me daily what I need for that day is sometimes a real challenge for me. I\u2019ve decided to practise this more intensely again, to express my trust in God that he has everything under control. And that he means well.<\/li>\n<li><strong>His job: to be a shepherd \u2013 and to look after me in the way I need.<\/strong> \u00a0I was struck by the fact that it says: \u201eHe knows his own\u201c. It really moved me to be reminded that he truly knows me. A few days ago, I read the excellent\u00a0<a title=\"Personality test\" href=\"http:\/\/charaktertest.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Personality test <\/a>I took it. The result wasn\u2019t really surprising: I\u2019m a visionary, I find housework utterly boring, and I live very much in the future, in what is to come. And I find it harder than most when things don\u2019t move fast enough.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When I read that verse, I thought to myself and prayed: \u201eOK. I want to trust you. For today. But hey, it also says that you know me. And if you know me, then you also know that I need encouragement. I need to see things moving forward (quickly). You know there\u2019s nothing that makes my heart as happy as when things are moving in the right direction<\/p>\n<p>God must have heard my prayer\u2026 things are moving forward. I\u2019m delighted about<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two friends who helped us stick up the insulation yesterday, which meant we made much faster progress.<\/li>\n<li>20 + a 25-euro donation towards the shipbuilding project at <a title=\"Better Place Ship by Kerstin Hack\" href=\"http:\/\/www.betterplace.org\/de\/projects\/12684-heart-of-berlin-das-schiff-wird-umgebaut\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Betterplace<\/a> and PayPal\u2026 another two hours\u2019 work<\/li>\n<li>Four friends from Portugal who wrote to me saying they want to come for 7 or 8 days to help out on the boat and really get stuck in<\/li>\n<li>A friend who wrote that he was sponsoring a Portuguese man\u2019s trip because three out of the four are unemployed and have no money<\/li>\n<li>30 euros from selling second-hand books on Amazon\u2026 it\u2019s not a fortune, but it helps<\/li>\n<li>We made over 400 euros from selling books published by our company at a church bazaar. Obviously, the proceeds will first go towards staff fees and running costs\u2026 but whatever\u2019s left over will go towards the ship<\/li>\n<li>A woman rang up and asked if she could help\u2026 she\u2019s currently doing an internship in Berlin, but with only two evenings a week, she\u2019s got plenty of time on her hands and has been longing for something meaningful to do\u2026 a friend told her about me\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>My heart is rejoicing\u2026 because we\u2019re moving forward\u2026<strong>and<\/strong> because I sense that my God is watching over me\u2026.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>War ich heute lebendig?
