There are people I ask directly for advice \u2013 such as my friend Rosemarie, who recently gave me a whole new perspective on a tricky situation.<\/p>\n<p>And then I\u2019m surprised at how God answers my prayer for guidance in such an original way. Two days ago, my godchild casually slipped a rather blunt and unvarnished description of someone into a sentence, which gave me a bit of clarity in a situation where I had been praying for wisdom.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s more: after four days off work on the ship, the colours and shapes begin to change. The bruises turn white again, as does the black under the fingernails; the scratches on the skin fade and the lumps go down.<\/p>\n<p>And: \u2018Oh Tannenbaum\u2019 used to be a tragic love song written by a man about the woman who left him after he fell on hard times:\u00a0<em>\u201eOh maiden, oh maiden, how fickle is your heart\u2026\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>What have I done?<\/strong><strong>Found out anything new about me?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ever since I started building the boat, far more men have been taking an interest in me than before.
