One key question that I\u2019ve been pondering is: What can I place my trust in? By this I don\u2019t mean the fundamental question of what or whom I base my trust on. That is \u2013 at least in theory \u2013 relatively clear.<br \/>\nWhat concerns me more is the question of which specific things or actions of God I can hope for on the basis of what the Bible says. I\u2019m still trying to make sense of it all.<br \/>\nI used to think I could trust that everything would turn out exactly as I imagined. I\u2019m not usually that naive anymore \u2013 at least in theory. For one thing, God never promised that in so many words. He once promised David that he would become king. The \u201esmall print\u201c \u2013 namely, how much character-building, difficulties and challenges would precede this \u2013 David painstakingly deciphered over the course of the following years and decades. No doubt this was accompanied by a great deal of frustration.<br \/>\nIf I have understood God correctly, then he has inspired me to build this ship. Which is not to say that everything will go smoothly.<br \/>\n<strong>My current understanding. I cannot be sure that everything will go smoothly.
