Yesterday I read that 40 % of parents who get divorced separate in the first(!) year after the birth of their first child. For unmarried couples, the number of those who separate in the first year after the birth is even higher. That moves me. Most of them don't want to separate. They want to stay together. But somehow it doesn't work out.
\nA huge tragedy for every couple, every family. A loss for everyone - for the siblings who may never be conceived and born, the children who are missing and the children who miss having mummy and daddy together and with them.
\nI wonder what can be done to support young families to find ways together to cope with the challenging baby years.<\/p>\n
In contrast, yesterday I received an email from a man who has been caring for his wife, who has suffered from severe dementia for years. She can no longer communicate clearly and has to be nappied, cared for and fed. Nevertheless, every email he writes not only has his name as a signature, but also hers.<\/p>\n
He wrote to me that his love for her is still growing and getting stronger.<\/p>\n
