This is where the music plays \u2013 a brilliant \u201eChinese\u201c musician in front of the Chinese tea house in Sanssouci.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The month has got off to a brilliant start\u2026 with a day in Potsdam spent reflecting and praying \u2013 interspersed with lots of lovely little encounters.<\/p>\n

And I\u2019m looking forward to everything this month has in store. Of course, you never know what might happen \u2013 you might stupidly twist your ankle, or something even worse might happen. But \u2013 if everything goes to plan, it\u2019s going to be a busy month.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Fitness programme:<\/strong> In the world in general, and especially when you\u2019re refitting a boat from the 1950s, the liver often has to work hard. That\u2019s why I\u2019m going to start the month with a liver detox (first the traditional method with Glauber\u2019s salt, grapefruit and oil, then later with milk thistle). And treat my body to a detox cure of garlic and lemon tincture (sounds awful, but it\u2019s not that bad \u2013 and it\u2019s antiviral and energising).<\/p>\n

\u2013 New learning:\u00a0<\/strong>I wanted to take a course at the Royal Horticultural Society on how to make your own plant pots \u2013 I\u2019ll need that in future, as I want to grow as much of my own food as possible on the boat. I\u2019d got the wrong end of the stick \u2013 it turned out to be more of a sales event. Still, I learnt something.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Find inspiration:<\/strong> The event will take place in Berlin from 6 to 8 March Transforum<\/a> is taking place. This is a conference held every two years that explores how we, as Christians, can have a positive influence on our society. Many of the ideas from the last Transforum still resonate with me today. I am grateful for this inspiring conference \u2013 incidentally, there is no conference fee, so that people on a tighter budget can also attend. Last-minute participants are still welcome to join.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Provide inspiration:<\/strong> As the \u201eWomen\u2019s Pampering Days\u201c were such a success for everyone involved \u2013 participants and the speaker alike \u2013 we have planned two follow-up sessions. There will be follow-up events on 14 March and 9 May \u2013 on the theme of \u201cEmbrace life to the full\u201d (14 March) at 8.00 pm in SV Community Centre.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0I\u2019m really looking forward to seeing these wonderful women again. In the afternoon, we\u2019re offering the chance to book a coaching session with me \u2013 a special service for those who find the journey to Berlin too far and aren\u2019t keen on telephone coaching. And at the end of March, there\u2019ll be another women\u2019s caf\u00e9 in Britz with me, focusing on SWING.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Writing.<\/strong> There\u2019s quite a bit on my desk. On top of all the organisational tasks that come with running a publishing house and a shipyard, I still have two inspiration booklets to write. Friendship<\/em> and Grief.\u00a0<\/em>I\u2019d also like to start the new online course IDA \u2013 In Your Arms<\/em> to work.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Ship:<\/strong> Of course, let\u2019s keep building. With all our might and as much wisdom as possible!<\/p>\n

\u2013 Men\u2019s teams on board:<\/strong> On 14 March (Treptow Parish) and 22 March (Lukas Parish), a whole group of men will be lending a hand. I\u2019m looking forward to showing the \u201eblokes\u201c my boat \u2013 and getting things moving with them! There\u2019ll also be a \u201emixed team (1 man \/ 1 woman)\u201c coming for two days \u2013 which is brilliant too!<\/p>\n

\u2013 Women in Paris.<\/strong> That\u2019s probably the biggest surprise. For months now, I\u2019ve been reading up on the life of Coco Chanel, arguably the first modern woman to build a global business from scratch \u2013 she came from a background of extreme poverty. \u00a0I found myself wanting to visit the places where she worked. But it was more of an obsession than an actual plan. After all, I\u2019ve got more than enough on my plate and expenses to cover with the boat. It was a fixed plan \u2013 until I started researching images for the special edition. It costs 180 euros or more \u2013 per image! That\u2019s way beyond the budget for a newsletter. But we still need 3\u20134 meaningful images. A flight to Paris costs just 120 euros \u2013 far cheaper. On top of that, I haven\u2019t had a proper holiday for over a year \u2013 apart from the boat crossing (4 days) and Antwerp (3 days, during which I was ill!).<\/p>\n

So I asked a friend if she\u2019d like to come to Paris with me (at her own expense). She replied: \u201eI\u2019ve spent the last few weeks clearing out, cleaning and sorting through my recently deceased great-aunt\u2019s house \u2013 I really need a change of scenery! And I have friends who have a flat in Paris! They live right in the city centre \u2013 just a fifteen-minute walk from the Chanel flagship store!<\/p>\n
