The lake, which was formed by a landslide in a river valley, is still more than 100 metres deep... and has swallowed up houses, roads, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The picture is from the 3rd floor of a hotel..... the first two floors are filled with water.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures in the region are currently dropping again - leading to less meltwater. The river that feeds the lake is weakening. The lake can drain slowly.  Slow, of course, is still a disaster for the people whose homes upstream are swallowed up by the water.
