{"id":2720,"date":"2014-05-04T20:00:22","date_gmt":"2014-05-04T18:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kerstinpur.de\/?p=2720"},"modified":"2025-02-04T10:20:31","modified_gmt":"2025-02-04T09:20:31","slug":"a-bit-of-pressure-does-you-good","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kerstinhack.de\/en\/ein-bisschen-druck-tut-gut\/","title":{"rendered":"A little pressure ... does you good!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\" href=\"https:\/\/kerstinhack.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/2014-03-25-09.22.47.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2721\" alt=\"25 March 2014 09:22:47 Toilet seat\" src=\"https:\/\/kerstinhack.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/2014-03-25-09.22.47-300x224.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve sold quite a few things over the last few weeks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A couple of portholes<\/li>\n<li>Several window panes<\/li>\n<li>A ship's lamp<\/li>\n<li>A pair of shoes<\/li>\n<li>A nightdress<\/li>\n<li>A dozen second-hand books<\/li>\n<li>A perfume<\/li>\n<li>A mobile phone<\/li>\n<li>A bag<\/li>\n<li>Rubber seals for boat windows<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I\u2019d been meaning to finally sort out some of these sales for ages, to make some space. But then other things always seemed more important. Until the pressure started to mount. Mainly due to financial worries. In April, I had high costs and low income at the publishing house, and high expenses on the boat. On top of that, a few niggling issues \u2013 such as the gear shift on my bike breaking. All of this combined created pressure. And that prompted me to take action.<\/p>\n<p>I listed quite a few items on eBay and posted updates on Facebook about my sales of <a title=\"berlintutgut sales on Amazon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.de\/gp\/aag\/main\/ref=olp_merch_name_2?ie=UTF8&amp;asin=0883688360&amp;isAmazonFulfilled=0&amp;seller=A3EWV4BP5F4K4R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">second-hand books, CDs and videos on Amazon\u00a0<\/a><br \/>\nAnd lo and behold \u2013 it worked. Even though some items didn\u2019t fetch the hoped-for price, but were sold for just \u20ac1, they all brought a sense of relief. A bit more space on the boat. And in the flat.<\/p>\n<p>Now I\u2019m grateful because I can see that the pressure has helped me feel a sense of relief\u2026 with a few things off my mind. That\u2019s a huge relief. And I\u2019m grateful to the pressure for helping me feel more at ease now.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>There are still a few things left that I\u2019m looking to sell.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More ship windows<\/li>\n<li>Two oil-fired heating systems<\/li>\n<li>A beautiful antique cabinet<\/li>\n<li>A large, powerful compressor<\/li>\n<li>A beautiful but oversized ship's propeller<\/li>\n<li>Clothing<\/li>\n<li>Books<\/li>\n<li>Old ship fittings that I can\u2019t reuse in their entirety.<\/li>\n<li>100 <a title=\"Berlin report\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.de\/gp\/aag\/main\/ref=olp_merch_name_2?ie=UTF8&amp;asin=0883688360&amp;isAmazonFulfilled=0&amp;seller=A3EWV4BP5F4K4R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Books\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As the pressure is still on, I\u2019ll be tackling this head-on again over the next few days. And this weekend there\u2019s a boat flea market at the boat manufacturer where my boat is currently moored.
