Lazing about for ages. Breakfast with friends. Doing this and that. Later in the afternoon, off to Williamsburg \u2013 in northern Brooklyn. A very diverse neighbourhood. Trendy and hip on the one hand, full of young people from all over the world strutting through the streets in all sorts of outfits.<\/p>\n<p>Rather uniform on the other side. Hasidic Jews, all wearing (almost) identical coats, hats, side curls and wigs (the women), living in flats with barred windows. (I haven\u2019t worked out why\u2026 perhaps so that their many children wouldn\u2019t be in danger???).<\/p>\n<p>A film night on a friend\u2019s rooftop terrace. Even more fascinating than the film was the view: a panorama of Manhattan with the Empire State Building and everything else that goes with it \u2013 the Williamsburg Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge \u2013 all bathed in the light of the setting sun.
