\"2014-07-12<\/a>I'm definitely not cut out for that sort of thing. I would like to remove the rust from the decks (see picture) of the ship before winter and repaint them - three times. That takes a lot of time, which I want to invest, and money - about 2500 euros - which I don't have. That's why a fundraising project is running on Startnext until the end of September to do just that: Defeat rust! <\/a><\/p>\n

So far, almost 1500 euros have been pledged in support for the project. That is marvellous. And I'm grateful to everyone who has helped so far. The only problem is that with Startnext you have to reach the entire target amount, otherwise you don't get anything.<\/p>\n

I'm starting to get nervous. Every few hours I look at the page of Defeating rust<\/a> to see if any more support has come in. I'm not cool and calm, I'm pretty hippy. I wonder what faith means in this situation. I'm not sure I'm full of faith for this situation right now. Sure, I ask God that the money will come together in the end. But whether I can or even want to believe that God wants to and will do this - hmmm I have my doubts.<\/p>\n

Even if I don't know whether and how this specific situation will turn out, I have a deep trust: God is good. He is with me. And yes, I wish I could make it now. It would be a shame if rain and snow were to fall on the already rusty decks for another winter. But the world won't come to an end. And hopefully the ship won't either. Even if I'm not quite so sure about that... ;-)<\/p>\n

The image of the sea helps me. Sometimes it's really choppy on the surface. The waves crash up there. But down in the depths there is calm. That's how I experience faith. Over the years, a deep trust has grown in me that God stands by me and goes with me. That doesn't mean that I automatically trust that every situation will turn out the way I want it to. Sometimes<\/p>\n
