\"\"<\/a>I recently read the following sentence in a newspaper in connection with the crisis in the FDP: \"Westerwelle must restage himself\". <\/em>I cringed inwardly. Normally you stage plays, not people. On the theatre stage, you try to act out a very specific image - to trigger the desired reaction in the audience. That's staging in the theatre.<\/p>\n

In real life - in my opinion - staging is out of place. I don't want to be governed by politicians who put on an act. I want to be governed by people who are genuine and show who they are and what they stand for. Of course, you always put on a bit of an act. I also dress according to the occasion, I wear different clothes for jogging - if I ever do - than I do for a lecture. Nevertheless, what is genuine and unique should be recognisable.<\/p>\n

Just as Jesus once put it. He did not ask his followers to stage themselves in order to achieve a certain effect. Instead, he told them to show what they stand for. \"Let your yes be a yes. And let your no be a no.\" Matthew 5:37.<\/p>\n

One person who has done a lot of work on the subject of authenticity and profiling is Reiner App. As a journalist and head of news at a regional newspaper, he has spent many years observing people in the public eye. Those who presented a coherent image and others where it quickly became apparent that there wasn't much behind the shiny fa\u00e7ade. Now he advises people on discovering what makes them tick, what they stand for and how they can communicate this credibly.<\/p>\n

In the impulse booklet \"Profile. Impulses to show the essentials\" <\/a>he shares his best tips and advice. He explains how to discover what you stand for. And shows how you can then communicate this authentically - both in your personal environment and in the press.<\/p>\n

Every person is unique. People who discover their uniqueness and show what makes them special inspire me. I think it's wonderful when I feel that this is what makes him or her happy, what he or she is committed to, what suits him or her ... in short: it's wonderful to see a profile.<\/p>\n
