This article may contain traces of advertising ;-).<\/p>\n<p>I live by the water and every day I realise how environmentally unfriendly some people are. I see bottles or plastic waste floating in the water almost every day.<\/p>\n<p>In summer, I usually jump into the water briefly and bring the rubbish ashore. In winter, I try to catch some of the rubbish with a scraper or the paddle of my kayak. This is just a drop in the ocean - but every drop can be the beginning of rain.<\/p>\n<h2>Environmentally friendly step by step<\/h2>\n<p>I find it very difficult to switch all my everyday products from \"normal\" to environmentally friendly options at once. That's why I'm doing it step by step - every month I try to integrate one new thing into my life.<\/p>\n<p>So far, the following environmentally friendly options - among others - have been incorporated into my life<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Environmentally friendly printing of my publishing products<\/li>\n<li>Composting toilet on board - saves 70 litres of drinking water per person per day<\/li>\n<li>Some homemade body care products e.g. baking soda as a deodorant<\/li>\n<li>Environmentally friendly household cleaners - some homemade<\/li>\n<li>No body lotion - natural coconut oil and aloe gel directly from the plant also nourishes.<\/li>\n<li>Washing laundry with chestnuts. Inexpensive and sustainable.<\/li>\n<li>Vinegar + water for window cleaning instead of glass cleaner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Environmentally friendly investment<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"\/en\/Baute\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-11004\" src=\"https:\/\/kerstinhack.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Forest-Finance-Baum.jpg\" alt=\"Money grows on trees when you invest in ecological mixed forest in Panama. https:\/\/www.forestfinance.de\/?partner_id=1182\" width=\"583\" height=\"423\" \/><\/a>That's just a start. Now I want to gradually switch to environmentally friendly investments.<\/p>\n<p>As a self-employed person, I will only receive a state pension of around 298 euros - from a previous employment relationship. Despite all my optimism, this will probably not be enough to live on, so I have to make my own provisions.<\/p>\n<p>So far I have done this with life insurance, which offers moderate returns, and with shares, which sometimes rise, sometimes fall and in the latter case cause a lot of stress. Quite apart from the fact that I am often unable to judge how cleanly the companies operate.<\/p>\n<p>Years ago, I invested part of my retirement provision in a pension fund. <a href=\"https:\/\/kerstinhack.de\/en\/live-better\/climate-neutral-living-1-i-plant-trees\/\">half hectare of forest<\/a> which was put in by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forestfinance.de\/?partner_id=1182\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Forest Finance<\/a> was planted on former cattle pastures in Panama.<\/p>\n<p>It is now growing - and after about 20 years I will receive the proceeds from the sale of the mature trees - at the same time, of course, young trees will grow back and the forest will be preserved. Dreamlike.<\/p>\n<p>I even went there myself to see it. I admit: travelling to Panama is not really ecological. But it was a dream to see Forest Finance's ecological mixed forests, which provide shelter for hundreds of animals. They looked very different to the monocultures of other forestry companies.<\/p>\n<p>I also thought it was great that they invested in the education and future of their employees. Employees were able to attend free evening courses to further their education. And that they have built a lot of security into their projects - for example, land that is cultivated but not sold so that they can offer compensation areas in the event of loss, e.g. due to fire.<\/p>\n<p>But you don't have to wait 20 years. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forestfinance.de\/?partner_id=1182\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Forest Finance<\/a> also has a whole range of really cool projects that are certified by all authorities and agencies. For example, you can invest in projects in which crops are grown alongside trees - such as cocoa bushes. These produce a faster yield than trees and therefore a faster return for the investor. I will probably invest in one of these projects.<\/p>\n<h2>Super beautiful and environmentally friendly: tree savings contract<\/h2>\n<p>What I also really like is the so-called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forestfinance.de\/produkte\/geschenkbaum\/?partner_id=1182\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Tree savings contract<\/a>. Every month - for as long as you want - a tree is planted and you receive the proceeds later. I think this is a great gift for a child at birth, for example, to help them start their studies or start a family later on.<\/p>\n<p>I have known Forest Finance for over 10 years and can wholeheartedly recommend them - environmentally friendly, ecological, social, communicative and transparent.
