Here we go - work on the boat begins

There's still a bit of tidying up to do...

The bad news first: We are still looking for a favourable transport possibility to bring the ship from Hamburg to Berlin. We would be pleased to hear from owners of push boats or specialised crane companies or owners of berths in Berlin or the surrounding area where the ship can be renovated.

Now the good news: We won't let it get us down and will simply start work on the boat next week in Hamburg-Harburg. Karl, the boat builder in charge of the project, will be travelling to Hamburg next week to get started.

Step 1 and 2:

1 - The boat must first emptied because there is still a lot of material in there from the previous owners, which tends to get in the way when renovating.

2 - Then it must derusted become. This is hard work. Something for real blokes or very strong women.

To save time and money, I'm currently looking for three strong, sturdy people who have the time and inclination to help out for a week. Overnight stay included: If you are not from Hamburg, you can sleep on the ship. Then you would be the very first to be there (if you prefer, you can also sleep in an existing VW bus).

Period: 27 - 30 June 2012 and also in the following weeks.

The offer: You experience: hard work, intensive muscle building, the joy of being the first...and taking part in something that will later help many people.

If you have time (ideally all five days, but individual days are of course also possible) and would like to take part, please get in touch with me. I'm looking forward to it!
