Turning a little into a lot: Trees in Tanzania with FMNR

How much does a Christmas tree cost?
A two metre high Christmas tree costs between 20 and 60 euros in Germany.
What does it cost to teach a person to protect trees and grow new trees?
About 5 euros.
In many places in Africa, trees are cleared for agriculture using slash-and-burn methods. Cooking is done on open fires, which consumes a lot of wood. And a lot of trees are dying as a result of remittances.
For 5 euros you can teach a person in Tanzania:
- Building a simple wood-saving clay stovewhich consumes only ¼ of the wood (and requires only 6-12 hours of wood collection time per week, instead of 24 to 48!).
- And No more burning of fields, but to farm regeneratively: e.g. leaving stalks lying around and growing trees in the fields - this leads to double to triple the yield.
- And to grow new trees: Prune sprouting shoots with the FMNR method so that five to ten metre high trees develop in 2 - 5 years.
- I saw it with my own eyes. In the Dodoma region of Tanzania, where World Vision has been running a regeneration project for 5 years. People now have more to eat, more time to set up a business, for example, more trees, more grass... and all for only around 5 euros per person.

One region save
The same is now starting in the Kinsongo area in the Arusha region. The entire area, which is acutely threatened by desertification, is to be regenerated over the next 18 months using the FMNR method (Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration). Instead of planting new trees on pastures and fields, the newly sprouting shoots of trees that were previously cut down are pruned so that they grow up to 5 metres high in just two years.

In addition to planting trees, the people there also receive energy-saving cooking facilities and training in beekeeping, better cultivation methods, etc.
For me, this is the best way I know of to improve people's lives and at the same time have a positive impact on the regional and global climate. Training and support to maintain and improve the area only costs around 5 euros per person in the village.
PARTICIPATE
Here you can find out more about the project.
GENIAL
- We already have enough money to realise the project.
THANK YOU to all of you who have already donated.
A DREAM
- We want to extend this and use the same method to regenerate the surroundings of other villages.
YOUR TREE -> A FOREST
Turn your Christmas tree into a tree in Africa. Or lots of them. 25 euros trains 5 people - who then grow dozens, maybe even hundreds of new trees.
It's as simple as that:
- Thinking: Think about what you will spend on a Christmas tree or Advent wreath.
- Give: Donate the same amount or more for trees in Africa. One person who is trained will probably pull up dozens or hundreds of trees.
You can here donate via the project page.
Or by traditional bank transfer:

Important: Promotion code Specify 406990so that your donation reaches the project. And your full address so that you receive a donation receipt. - Multiply: Tell others about it, e.g. on social media or by forwarding them this email. The biography of the forest maker Tony Rinaudo and information about the project is available as a free e-book here.
