Realising dreams

The first step to turning a dream into reality is to wake up. -author unknown

Making dreams come true.

Time and again I hear that people admire me for the fact that I can Dream of a houseboat have realised. And they ask me how I did it.

Kerstin Hack Dream realised, ship built

I like to tell this story, for example, in my book Cast off.

But basically, I don't think that's so important. I think it's much more important that you realise other people's dreams. And I'm happy to support them in this. You only realise what you're made of when you unpack it. My favourite job is being a midwife for other people's dreams.

How about making your dream come true now? At last?

Dream is such a big word.

You think of travelling the world, a big project, such as converting a ship, or launching an aid project. Emotionally powerful and huge.

A friend told me: "I don't have any dreams - just a few ideas."

Whether it's a big dream or "just" an idea, please take a moment to ask yourself:

  • What have I always wanted to do and haven't done yet?
  • What could I do now?

I don't mean something like pasting old photos or sorting through your toolbox. I'm talking about something you want and long for.

It doesn't matter whether you harbour big, powerful dreams or smaller ideas. I am convinced that our dreams and wishes are no coincidence.

I even believe that they were placed in us by the Creator. Because it will make you more alive and happier if you realise what is calling within you.

In the webinar Vision I explain how you can find clarity about what suits you. And in another Article Here I have about First steps towards realising dreams written.

In the webinar, I explain five extremely helpful strategies on how to plan successfully. Secure the Webinar and the detailed documentation.

And what if it doesn't work?

The risk is there. You dreamed of something and did a lot for it. And yet nothing came of it. For reasons that were beyond your control.

What to do?

  1. Take risk seriously. I think it makes sense to take it into account and say: yes, there is a risk that it won't work. And then to decide: I'll go for it anyway.
  2. Minimise risk. For example, by learning from those who have already done it - from me, if you like.
  3. See the benefits: No one can take away who you become as you realise a dream, even if it fails.
