Question of the week: Where should there be no change?
Longing for change
Change is wonderful. I love changing, learning things and improving my life in one way or another.
Also as Coach I accompany people through change. People want to improve their relationship, lose weight, get rid of burdens and find new perspectives.
As an author, I have written titles about change - including an ebook that explains how change can succeed and how you can 100 x easier to get into the new. You can get this for free download.
In the picture you can see me after I jumped into the water with my clothes on. The reason: I wanted to be sure that I could swim with my clothes on in an emergency. And I realised: I can.
It's also clear that I actually prefer living on my houseboat on the Spree rather than on land - the change has been worth it for me.
No need for change
Change is often wonderful. But the desire for change can also create pressure. Especially if you are hoping for more happiness and satisfaction from the change. This is sometimes - not always - the case. In any case, you will be happier if you first enjoy the hoped-for change instead of rushing straight to the next change project.
In order to counter the pressure to constantly change, it can be worthwhile to first take a look at the areas of life that should not change. And not because they are already good.
Hence the question of the week:
What in your life should stay that way,
as it is,
because it is good?
I ask myself this question again and again. Mainly because it slows me down in a good way and puts the desire for change, which is practically always there for me, into a meaningful framework. Yes, I want to improve, change, make things more beautiful and more effective - there's no question about it. Change is exciting and attractive to me. I love development and new things.
What should not change for me?
But despite all the longing for change, it is also clear that much of my life should remain as it is because it is already good.
