Planting flowers

In a book about grief, I came across a passage that really moved me.

I’d like to be able to plant flowers again

It has to be not the same
to be an apple tree,
especially as my world is already
has gone under.

But if that were possible again,
would rise,
then I would
what’s in bloom….
