Grateful for surprising help

Help!!!

As a woman who loves aesthetics, I am bothered by the 100 little things that are not yet really nice on the ship. There are still mouldings missing in one place and shelves for books, mobile phones and suitcases in the guest rooms.

Boat builder Helge, on the other hand, is more concerned with the big things. For example, installing the new stove for the seminar room. Or continuing to build the solar system so that I can generate 220 V electricity myself as quickly as possible.

So far, the small solar system has produced 12 volts of electricity. On most days of the year, this is enough to light the boat, charge mobile phones and operate the drinking water pump. On the days when it is not enough, we use (expensive) electricity from the shore.

The solar system is coming soon

In order to operate the boat as self-sufficiently as possible and with low operating costs, we are currently building a solar system, which will cost around 2500 euros (material and installation), but should then produce enough electricity - unless there are 8 weeks of rainy weather, which is rare even in Berlin.

Because things like a wood-burning stove and solar panels are of course more important than the 100 little things that are important for my sense of aesthetics and well-being, I'll have to borrow them for the time being.

Spontaneous help

So I'm all the more pleased that I have three craftsmen on board at the moment who are giving me a helping hand. I've borrowed them from another project that has unfortunately been delayed. Spontaneously. The enquiry came on Monday, the craftsmen arrived on Wednesday and are now staying for a few days.

Yesterday I was away for my day of reflection - and on my return I was delighted to have a new window sill, a better shelf in the toilet and freshly painted walls in the office. Marvellous!
