Ship - handle for handle

2016-02-20 15.28.41A helper and I worked together for hours. She cut the insulation to size for the outer wall of the ship: 13.5 x 20 cm 8 x 50 cm. I glued the pieces to the wall. After about two hours, she let out a sigh: „I was wondering why you weren't making faster progress with the ship. Now I understand!“

Progress is being made. But as described, a lot of the work is intensive and often painstaking. Every board that goes on the wall has to be primed once, then sanded and then painted twice. And, of course, it has to be customised to fit the respective niche. That takes time. And also money. For wood, paints, sandpaper, saw blades...

How quickly the ship will be finished depends on finances and helpers. My current estimate is 3 - 4 months in the best case. I hope that two guys from America who would like to come for a few months will actually make it...they need the costs for the flight and of course for food. If anyone would like to sponsor a week's basic board for the two of them (50 euros), I would be delighted.

Almost every time I am on board, there are personal and sometimes pastoral conversations. The ship is already fulfilling its purpose in many respects, even if it is far from finished. But it will be - step by step. „Give me a piece of insulation, please, 17.5 x 12 cm.“
