Growing in trust: the basis for trust
Yes! Above all, I’ve been confident that I’ll have enough time for breaks – even though, or perhaps precisely because, I’m currently in the middle of a writing marathon. I’ve reached my first milestone: the manuscript for the activity booklet on Coco Chanel It’s now finished. I really enjoyed getting to know this fascinating woman.
Coming up in the next few weeks: an article on God’s promises, the Quadro Slim and fit, A lecture: Non-violent communication, another talk: Spirituality and Psychology. And then two more inspiration booklets: Friendship and Mourning. Although I enjoy writing and do so quickly, that’s quite a lot. Oh, and on the side I’m building a boat, which involves a great deal of organisational work.
The foundation of trust
Over the last few days, I’ve been wondering what the basis of my trust in God is. For me, there are four fundamental things:
- – God is, by nature, good and trustworthy.
- – God is powerful and can shape and change situations (even if he does not always do so).
- – God is relationship-oriented. He wants to be close to me.
- – God is task-oriented. He wants to bring about good things in this world.
I can base my trust on these „cornerstones“.
- Because God is good, I can trust that he is good to me too.
- Because he is powerful, I can trust that he can act on my behalf too.
- Because he’s close to me, I feel safe
- Because he wants to make a difference in the world, I can trust that he wants to help me with the tasks he entrusts to me.
That doesn’t mean I expect everything in life to go smoothly. That would be an illusion. God is powerful, but he also exercises his power within the tension between human responsibility and the expectation of being invited to act (Christians call such an invitation „prayer“).

That’s beautifully put! I find living in this tension a constant challenge. Wishing you every blessing in all your „doings and non-doings“!
Thanks for the flowers… and may you be blessed as you navigate life’s challenges.
