It is with great gratitude that I look back on a relatively peaceful 1 May in Berlin. As there was on the Transforum Blog As there is a detailed report, I’ll spare you the details.
What really struck me personally was the interview with a police representative during the open-air church service.
He said the police have only limited means of curbing the violence on 1 May. He called on Christians to get actively involved in their neighbourhoods and districts, to look after young people, and so on. I found that very impressive and far-sighted.
