2015 - What it will bring
The LORD your God has been with you. You have lacked nothing. Deuteronomy 2:7
This verse stood over today - and reminded me that I experienced God's faithfulness last year. In a way, it was a year without any major highs or lows - apart from the court case and a personally difficult situation, it was a „normal“ year... even without any major highlights... the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the odd beautiful concert and wonderful encounters...
A year in which loyalty was required above all: a lot of work in the publishing house and on the ship. 6-day week practically the whole year through. With a lot of support. Countless people - I estimate there were well over 100 - who helped out at one point or another, e.g. painting the boards (picture). Now the ship is perhaps 70 - 80% finished... a bit more every day. An end is not yet in sight (maybe spring, summer 2015), but it is slowly becoming foreseeable. It was exhausting... and it was worth it.
And a year in which I have experienced God's faithfulness. Yesterday my account balance was 37 euros. With sales, renting out my bedroom, publishing and many, many donations, I was able to cover all the costs on the ship without having to take out new loans. I am deeply grateful for this. To God, from whom all good gifts come. And to the people who have supported me so generously and energetically.
When I look ahead to the new year, I know that there are still some strenuous months ahead of me - with the dual challenge of publishing and the boat. And I have weak knees when I think about some of the challenges - for example, having to pay 8,000 euros for about a year's berth hire + electricity + service at the shipyard all at once on 20 January and not yet knowing how that will work. But I can already sense that the day will come when I can say: „Now it's roughly finished... the dream has become reality!“ I'm looking forward to 2015! And I invite you to continue to accompany me on my journey.
