Kerstin Hack dances through life at 50

Being 50 was great!

I'm celebrating another birthday in a few days. The wonderful 50th year of my life is coming to an end. It was actually one of the best years of my life. I thought being 50 was really great.

What happened at 50 - personally?

Kerstin Hack - 50 and very lively I celebrated my new year of life to the full: Parties, concerts, delicious meals out - it was wonderful. From about party number 30 onwards, I lost count. It was marvellous!

  • I spent the first full year of my life on my boat - I love living on the water and enjoy the birds, the sky, the vastness and the peace and quiet.
  • I did a few short trips, but not enough for my taste.
  • A very exciting nutrition course has motivated and accompanied me to remove a number of nutrient-empty „foods“ from my life and to integrate even more foods that keep me alert and fit: It feels really good.
  • I continued to build my ship, cleared the bushes and planted a „garden“.

What was your career at 50?

  • Kerstin Hack writes about what she has learnt in 50 years Again and again Coaching guests on board that I was allowed to accompany. Most of them for an hour or two, some for several weeks.
  • I have my big, beautiful book „The good life“ with the insights of what I have learnt in 50 years. The book has been very well received. Men and women love it. But I later realised that it was a mistake to put another woman on the cover instead of myself. And in the new edition, I'll be the cover woman myself.
  • With Bene!,a publishing house that Droemer Knaur Group I have a Contract for a new book signed. Large parts of it were written in January during a writing break in Saarland.
  • For myself I have Coaching for business and cancelled it again because I didn't find the approach effective enough. Instead, I enrolled in three online business courses that helped me progress. I also took part in a training course on facial expressions and learnt a lot.
  • In December, I took the bold step of Cancelling bookstore delivery of my books to reduce the burden of storage costs and two delivery locations. We've been doing everything from Berlin since April. We'll soon be moving 25 pallets of books back to Berlin - and I found out today that we won't be able to store them at the planned location. Ouch.
  • I was on tour in March/April: 13 events in 10, then 5 events in 4 days: readings, seminars, lectures, coaching sessions. Intensive and enriching.
  • I have Accompanied dozens of people as a coach, to find their way in life - some for a shorter, others for a longer time.

And now 50 is almost over - I'll soon be 51 - my professional goals

  • Cast off - Kerstin Hack moves onto a houseboat at 50 My new book is called: „Cast off. How I built a houseboat in the centre of Berlin to live my dream.“ I hope that it goes down just as well as The good life. You can already buy the book pre-order here - even with personalised dedication.
  • I'm also thinking about developing a programme to help people live their dream. Please let me know what you think - feel free to write a comment.
  • I want to continue to invest in Down to Earth, to strive for even more streamlining and efficiency so that business is no longer a burden for me (sometimes it is), but rather a framework within which I am happy to invest my energy.

Personal wishes for 51

  • I would like to reduce my debts from shipbuilding. I currently have to pay back 20 euros a day - I'll be finished in 10 years. I won't even be able to manage that at the moment. And it would actually be good to save for old age, as I won't be getting a pension. If you'd like to relieve me of a day or more of debt, I'd be delighted - no matter how you do it. Possibilities are e.g. as a gift or by buying one or more copies of The good life for yourself or other people - that helps too.
  • The solar panels have already been installed on the roof of my boat, but I haven't had the money (approx. 2500 euros) for the batteries yet. I would be grateful if I could do this soon, as having my own electricity saves costs - and as I buy electricity from a shipyard, it costs more than normal.
  • I want to continue planting my „garden“, a piece of wasteland in front of my boat - with shrubs, perennials and vegetables. The fruit trees I planted last year are already in bloom.
  • I'm also looking forward to some shorter trips with friends.
  • I want to invest even more in my health and, above all, in fitness. Even more physical energy is one of my big goals for this new year of my life.
  • Professionally and privately: I want to give many people what I have and what I can do. And I hope that I can help even more people than before to live their lives well and richly.

50 was great - I'm also looking forward to 51.
