15 years Down to Earth - the best gifts
Fifteen years ago, on a gloomy Berlin day in February, I was sitting in a neo-lit office in Schöneberg town hall - yes, the one where Kennedy said „Ich bin ein Berliner!“ before I was born. I signed a grey form and said: „I'm a Berliner - and I'm starting a business here!“ That was the beginning of Down to Earth.
15 years later and many experiences later, I look back. On the Blog from Down to Earth I have some of our Secrets of success reveal.
And I even have a Video turned to it.
And I celebrate.
I received a few nice presents for my birthday.
The most practical thing: An Ipad stand
Made of wood from the ship. To make it easier for me to exercise in the morning. There's a programme that I like to use. But it's stupid if you can't see the gymnast.
The most delicious - a dark chocolate with a cranberry filling.
Without further ado.
The most surprising thing: A tray
Made of fine wood. I won it in a competition that I can't even remember. Really nice because my old one burnt recently. And I need my money for other things right now.
The funniest and most touching thing: a letter of congratulations
My best friend came up to me on my Down to Earth birthday and said, beaming: I wrote you something for your 10th birthday. I said: Aber Down to Earth will be 15 after all.
We laughed uproariously - mistakes
And she first read me the touching and encouraging text.
And then spontaneously added five more lines.
The most relieving thing: A donation for the ship
A financial gift that will help me with the next challenges: heating, floors.
The greatest thing: being able to do what I can and what enriches others.
Despite all the ups and downs and challenges: It is infinitely moving to be able to do things that I am good at, that enrich others and that make me realise that I was also created for this.
My birthday wish: The Ship ready in the next few months to open a new chapter in the history of Down to Earth... one that has already begun.
