Collect printer cartridges - with a donation for a good cause
There are ideas that really inspire me because they’re incredibly simple, practical and effective. At the moment, that’s the campaign Collect with.
It is a way for individuals, clubs, local authorities and groups
- can earn money / can help others to raise funds
- can reduce the workload
- and do some good for the environment.
How?
By collecting used printer cartridges, the proceeds from which are donated to the charity of your choice.
How does it work?
1. Log in
To register with www.sammel-mit.de Sign up. There, you can specify who should receive the proceeds from the fundraising campaign. This could be yourself, your local community, your organisation, your school or your club.
2. Obtain and fill the collection container
Sammel-mit delivers the collection bins free of charge.
3. Arrange for collection
When the collection container is full, you send a fax to Sammel-mit. They will collect the full container – free of charge – and deliver a new one.
4. Getting money
You will receive a statement sent to your own account or to that of the club you specify.
5. Attracting influencers
Anyone who wishes to do so can ask club and parish members, parents and friends to set up collection boxes in their offices or homes, specifying their own club as the recipient of the proceeds.
For most offices, this is a real relief because it reduces waste. Or – if you’re already recycling – it makes the process less of a hassle (normally you have to take the empty cartridges to the post office, etc.)
6. Extras
A sponsor supporting the campaign provides sports vouchers worth 10,000 euros each year, which are raffled off amongst all participating collection points… a lovely bonus, especially for schools, children’s clubs and the like.
I spoke to the person who set up the scheme, and he said that there are schools which use it to boost their budget by 5,000 euros (!) every year. And all with minimal effort (5 minutes to register and the occasional fax). And without it costing them a single cent.
Right, I hope I’ve whetted your appetite… and that you like this initiative and find it useful.
And of course – I’ve just registered my publishing office as a collection point today as well.
If you can’t think of a charity to name as the beneficiary, I’d recommend that you Two of my favourite clubs. I’d be delighted if you could support her.
1. Together for Berlin e.V.
‘Together for Berlin’ brings communities and organisations together to do good in the capital. Raising funds for this vital networking work is often no easy task (there are no starving children, just the most disoriented city dwellers). That’s why I’d love to support ‘Together for Berlin’ in this way.
