Serenity

Today I read a quote by James Stewart: «Happiness is accepting change with dignity.» Over the last few days, I’ve admired the composure shown by some footballers – particularly when they’ve been treated unfairly during a match. In the interviews afterwards, they’ve often said: „That’s in the past. Now let’s look ahead.“

Of course, I cannot judge just how genuine and profound that composure was.  Nevertheless, I was struck by the fact that they had clearly got into the habit of not dwelling endlessly on „what if…“ scenarios. They remained focused on what they could influence: the present and the future. I find that impressive.
