Success and blessing

I read this story somewhere: the musician Louis Armstrong was discovered by a patron in a New York pub. That marked the start of an unprecedented musical career. Someone later said to him: „You were incredibly lucky to have been discovered there.“ He replied: „I spent 10 years preparing for that bit of luck.“
That’s what I was thinking about yesterday when I struck up a conversation with a woman in a café after a dance class. To be more precise: I’d gone over to speak to her because I’d seen out of the corner of my eye that she was programming something. I asked her… and then she answered for two hours
