Discover life - tender and strong
Yes….
I found the ever-changing autumnal atmosphere – ranging from mild, gentle and breezy to sulphur-yellow, wet and rainy – fascinatingly beautiful.
What new things have I discovered about life?
If something has to be done, it can be done. There was another one of those collection slips from the post office in the letterbox. Which was odd, as I’ve been here a lot over the last few days. Sometimes I suspect the parcel delivery people just pop them in the letterbox because it’s less of a faff than lugging the parcels up to the fourth floor. But I don’t want to jump to conclusions about them.
So I cycled the 3 km to the post office, joined the usual long queue and waited to collect my parcel. I’d been expecting to receive a few books in the post. But instead, I received a huge roll of insulation material that I’d bought at auction on eBay. Fortunately, I can have building materials for the boat delivered directly to Boat manufacturer I had it delivered, which is a really great service, but in this case either I or the seller must have overlooked the delivery address. It was, of course, too bulky for the bike basket – but once I’d secured it to the seat with a scarf and a lock attached to the flag, it worked out after all. If something has to be done, it can be done.

I’m not 17 any more, and no, it takes my body longer to recover from exertion. I’m slowly catching up and managing to clear the backlog. But over the last four weeks of juggling three jobs, I’ve lost three kilos and lost a lot of strength. I’ve taken several breaks today… treated myself to three chocolate marshmallow kisses… and I’m still pretty tired. I hope I’ll get my old strength back soon…
