Even more leaks

The good news first

Last week we had 2 x 2 helpers on board who lent a hand for a day. That was brilliant. Karl said the three of them did as much in one day as he usually does in a week on his own.

The first leak was plugged with flash cement. (The photo is of leak no. 4, which was not as severe as no. 1, through which the water sprayed into the boat like a fountain).

And now the big challenges

The steel plates now have to be replaced in the entire area (for experts „aft“ for laymen „aft“)....etwa 24 plates - 120 euros per Piece + personnel costs....autsch! Challenge.

And even worse: yesterday Karl, the boat builder, wrote to me that there are leaks in all (!!!) tanks. That too. They are at the bottom of the boat. If you go there and water breaks in because there are more leaks, the ship could sink. Suboptimal. We'll keep at it. And are grateful for encouragement, prayer and practical help!

  1. you, don't you have some kind of guarantee on it? Is the seller just watching?

    1. The boat was bought second-hand. But the seller obviously concealed some defects that he should have known about. We will therefore have another discussion about the second instalment, which is still outstanding.
