Ship in February
After the frosty winter days, they are back again - those few hours when you can sit outside in the sun for a while wrapped up in warm blankets with a hot cup of tea.
I haven't made much progress in the last few weeks because I don't have much capacity myself, as I've been working intensively on my new book and the new online course Swing Your Good Life busy and had few helpers.
But boat builder Helge is coming at the weekend, so we want to continue building
- A Stair railingso that people can get on board safely
- Blankets in the entrance area
- Blankets in the wheelhouse
When this is done, all the rooms in the ship (except for the engine room) will have ceiling panelling. That would be another milestone.
Then the big things are still missing
- Door for the seminar room
- Wood-burning stove for the seminar room
- Stairs down
- Sand floors in entrance and seminar room and cover with cork
- Ventilation
Since everything, every single board that goes on the ceiling, has to be cut to size and customised, it's a lot more work on a ship than, say, building a new house.
But I'm happy about every intermediate step. And that people who need guidance make use of the offer (less so in winter, although the ship is well heated!).
Carry on
I am still grateful for every person who helps me with finances or by giving me a few hours or days. In short, anything that helps me realise my dream of having a finished boat by my 50th birthday in April.
