Expanding borders

Yesterday I was sitting in the park after office hours. I go there often. To study. My educational background is in the humanities (English, ethnology). I've never formally learnt how to run a publishing house, and much of the business background is still a closed book to me. But I want to be good at what I do. So I keep learning to fill in the gaps.

While I was reading a training book, Lara was playing catch with her grandad. Lara is about four years old and I know her name because her friends were calling her. „Lara, Lara.“ Lara didn't let this put her off. She had one goal: „Catch Grandad.“ And she pursued this goal with all her energy.

That really touched me. Occasionally I have goals such as watering my flowers, then I go into the kitchen to fetch some water and realise that the plates haven't been cleared yet and a latte wouldn't be bad either. Wait a minute, what did I actually want?

I learnt something yesterday. From my clever book on business management and from Lara. I love learning. Every new skill increases our freedom and security. A newborn baby has very little freedom. It is dependent on others to feed, dress, transport and care for it. If you only have a few options at your disposal, you can hardly choose. Those who have many options, on the other hand, can act with greater freedom. This is why expanding your own abilities always brings more freedom and joie de vivre.

I like learning - and I like helping others to learn. That is the main reason why we Quadros and why I am so enthusiastic about this format. I want to help people learn new knowledge, but above all new skills. With the Quadro, you can learn something about a topic in four weeks. In a very concrete and practical way - with impulses on how to implement what you have learnt so that it sticks. The Quadros are also ideal for holidays. Waterproof and inspiring.

So far, there are Quadros on more than 20 topics, e.g. prayer, wisdom, gentleness, coaching, leadership, writing, developing creativity, etc. In short: I am thrilled that I can learn - and that I have developed a format with the Quadros that helps many others to learn.
