Green smoothies - my favourites
It is very important to me to provide my body with a good supply of vital substances, minerals and vitamins. The healthy fibre also helps to cleanse the intestines. I want to go through the day energised and awake. I don't always manage to eat enough salad and vegetables for this. That's why green smoothies are the basis of my healthy diet.
I usually make myself a green smoothie for breakfast. Often a whole litre or more, which I then drink throughout the morning. I love it when I can still taste the individual ingredients.
Green smoothies: the soft version to start with
Green smoothies take some getting used to - especially as a start to the day. That's why I recommend „sweet“ green smoothies for beginners - a mixture of salad, vegetables and fruit.
Mix first:
- Water as required
- 1 - 4 apples
- 5 celery stalks (approx. 10 cm)
- 10 cm cucumber
Then add:
- 2 handfuls of spinach (fresh or frozen a little less)
- 1 avocado
Green smoothies: The power smoothie
Fruit contains a lot of fructose. It ferments in the stomach, whereby vitamins are lost and gases and toxins are formed. This is why fruit should only be eaten on an empty stomach - then it is digested quickly - in about 30 minutes - and the valuable substances can be fully absorbed by the body.
That's why I eat some fruit very early after getting up. The power smoothie comes a little later.
Mix first:
- Water as required
- 5 celery stalks (approx. 10 cm)
- 10 cm cucumber
Then add:
- 2 handfuls of spinach (fresh or frozen a little less)
- 1 avocado
- A few cabbage leaves
- 1 handful of kale (fresh or frozen a little less)
- Some coriander
- Some chilli pepper
Green smoothies plus: Possible supplements
I also mix one or more of the following ingredients into my smoothies
- One whole or half an avocado stone
- Powerfoods
- Chia seeds
- Linseed
- Aloe Vera
- Some lemon with peel
- Rosehip seeds
- Fresh ginger
- ...
