Leak in the jaw

In addition to the leaks on board, there is now a leak or hole in the tooth. I've just been to the dentist - I wanted to have a routine check-up before my sabbatical.

The bad news: He found caries under of a filling that went so deep that the root could no longer be saved. Ouch.

The good news: He discovered it just before it started to fester - that would have been really harsh...especially abroad. I had that once, it took months and about 10 treatments before the damage was repaired. And he gave me an appointment for Monday to put a permanent temporary on the tooth so that I can get through the Sabbatzeig before it's completely redone later.

I'm frustrated that it's like this - and grateful for the preservation. And hope that my cheek, which is thick from the injections, will swell up by the time I speak at a women's breakfast in Wittenberg tomorrow.
