Discover life - learning by hand

2013-09-11 16.35.08- Was I alive today?
Yes! And by the evening I was so dead tired that, after evening prayers with my neighbour (a lovely tradition), I fell into bed like a log!

- What new things have I discovered about life?
OK. At the moment, I’m learning a lot about DIY. I now know that wet-and-dry vacuum cleaners reach their limits once they’re tilted beyond a certain angle. I’m not sure yet how to solve this.

And… I never would have thought that sandblasting would leave behind such huge piles of sand. Phew!

- What new things have I discovered about myself?

When I have a problem to solve – such as 200 litres of oily water

(a) to extract from a tank
b) to dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way
Then I’m not really open to meeting people… which is a shame… perhaps that very encounter is the most important thing about this day.

  1. Hmmm, dear Kerstin,
That makes me wonder straight away whether you might be expecting a bit too much of yourself?? When I imagine the rust clogging up the pores, the sand sticking on top of it all, dust swirling through the air anyway, the bronchial tubes working like mad, the heart having to work incredibly hard to keep your circulation stable, the muscles having to show their strength, the nerves on high(and in some places might not be quite as well protected as they used to be), your soul has to process all of this as well, and your brain is already running at full speed – shouldn’t you be a bit kinder to Kerstin, both the little one and the grown-up one?? If Heavenly Dad expects you to go through all this and is right there with you in the thick of it – because He does, after all, dwell within you – then you won’t miss out on the truly important encounters.
With this in mind, I send you my greetings with Philippians 4:7:
And may the peace of God, which surpasses all human understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, our Lord!

    1. Thank you, dear Karin, for your lovely comment….That’s very kind of you… and absolutely lovely… and you’re right, sometimes I really am quite hard on myself… I think there was also a touch of sadness… I sense what God wants to give me through this person… and I was sad that I’d almost missed it.
