One year "Cast off" - a dream

In August 2018, my book "Leinen los" was published, in which I described the highs and lows of shipbuilding. Rust, tears, dust, financial and interpersonal crises.

But also help, encouragement, gifts, unexpected coincidences.

It was a huge challenge to turn an old barge into a habitable ship that could also accommodate guests. But after years of work, it was mastered.

In the book "Leinen los" I take the reader with me on the adventure of realising my own dream. I describe the highs and lows. But also what gave me the strength to persevere.

Encourage and change lives

But even more. Reading the book has also changed lives.

A reader wrote to me today:

"If you want to build a ship...", this saying is one of the sails I have set on MY "lifelong dream ship".

When I read your book, Kerstin, I felt hot and cold because it made me realise parts of my own dream. I was thrilled with your stories and delighted at every success.

I think it's wonderful how many friends and people you had/have along the way. I have started to take the first small steps towards my dream, and people who are living their dream are a great motivation for me.

My hurdle is that I'm not a good talker, so it takes a lot of effort to go out into the world for a real heartfelt dream, especially if you want to win people over. But I'm now practising on a small scale. It's an adventure to build a ship, no matter what it looks like. "

I was very touched by this feedback. What a gift it is when words that you write and print on paper give other people courage and strength.
