Pakistan - Landslide

I am relieved: a few days ago we succeeded in finding a Drain to build. This means that the water in the Hunza River, which was dammed up by a huge landslide at the beginning of the year, can now slowly drain away. [Right: A few days ago. Left: Now.] The water level in the "reservoir" has reached almost 120 metres. The lake has flooded many villages.
Now the first water is flowing out - still less than is flowing in. [Addendum 11. 6: Now a little more is flowing out, the lake level is dropping by a few centimetres a day. Addendum 14 June: The water level is rising again due to the warmth and the melting snow. Frustration]. The outflow is slowly widening. It is my prayer that it can drain quickly and safely. And also that the dam doesn't break uncontrollably and destroy the lives and livelihoods of thousands of people with flood waves.
