The next steps to the goal

My bones are aching right now. Really sore. 2016-03-19 13.58.24

On Friday and Saturday, I worked on the ship for a total of around 18 hours - and also organised a compact workshop on Learning to forgive  held.

I insulated blankets, hauled wood, cleared away metal plates, gave instructions, cooked food (ok.... Italian stew from a tin) and and and....

I can feel the time pressure that has arisen due to boat builder Helge's announcement that he will probably only be here until the end of April. We've already done so much, but there's still so much to do:

  • 2016-03-19 12.32.30Installation of shower and washbasin
  • Ceilings in the seminar room, entrance, wheelhouse
  • Furniture for guest kitchen and large kitchen ready
  • Floor and walls for the wheelhouse
  • Wardrobe for the guest room
  • Lay cork floors in approx. 80 square metres
  • Doors for seminar room and bathroom
  • Stairs to the guest area
  • Cut roof hatches into the metal for ventilation
  • Laying gas for the cooker
  • Building outdoor furniture
  • Floors for the decks

That's not an infinite amount, but it's more than a man with a lot of knowledge (boat builder) and a woman with less knowledge (me) can manage in the four weeks that remain. All the things we install usually have to be painted three times - it's simply a mountain of work.

2016-03-19 06.56.52I am so deeply grateful for every person who prays, gives and lends a hand for a few hours or days to make the impossible possible - to be finished by summer. Like the two people who are priming the panels that will later go on the ceiling - see picture. If you are far away from Berlin and still want to help, you can and may pray for blessings and, if you like, give something for the project. Or buy books - from me at Publisher or from my Pile of used books.  A pot of 5 litres of paint costs about 25 euros. Every cent helps a few drops or litres.

Despite all the challenges, I am grateful that there are always wonderful moments during and alongside the hard work. Like when I was sitting on deck with a cup of coffee on Saturday morning and a swan came swimming up.

The picture has not been edited. The moment was really like this. I thought it was beautiful.
