"Shipyard pirates", ransom demands and miracles on the way

image_1366702828533004That was the idea!

The steel has been refurbished, the ship is safe and freshly painted and shines in new beauty after the long, painstaking and high-quality shipyard work. That is marvellous!

It wasn't meant to be like that!

The ship is not the Elbphilharmonie, Stuttgart 21 or Berlin Airport - but as with almost all construction projects, the costs have nevertheless ended up being much higher than originally estimated. To be more precise: twice as high. In addition to the planned 20,000, another 22,000 were added.

This was partly due to major flooding in January, which caused additional damage. Partly due to the long, hard winter, which made many things more difficult and drove up costs, and partly due to unforeseen events - such as the repair of the tanks, which was not previously recognisable.

The current challengePirate ship

I anticipated slightly higher costs than expected, but they weren't on this scale. I'm currently doing everything I can to earn money: I'm writing several new quadros, selling second-hand books and items, coaching like a world champion - but I can't just pluck an extra 20,000 euros out of my pocket at short notice.

What makes it really bad

The shipyard will not launch the ship until at least a large part of the outstanding invoice has been paid. That's their right. But it means we can't continue working if I can't raise the money quickly. Now I need a big miracle. Or lots of little ones.

The background - the vision

The ship is to become a place where people can find inspiration and help. On the one hand through seminars and events. It will also offer people who find themselves in a crisis of orientation the opportunity to stay on board for a while and receive coaching and life support.

Would you like to be part of a miracle?

So I'm asking you directly for help: if you and everyone else who reads this blog contributes one, 5, 10 or more euros, I can manage to pay the "ransom" to get the ship back in my hands.

I think it would be wonderful if lots of very different people were part of this miracle and made it possible for the dream to come true. I would be very happy!

Practical: You can help via Paypal using the "Donate" button on the right-hand sidebar. Or even better - because then I don't have to pay any Paypal fees - to my account:

Kerstin Hack 0478578209 at Commerzbank BLZ 10080000, IBAN DE59 1008 0000 0478 5782 09, BIC DRESDEFF100.

Those who prefer to donate anonymously can do so via Betterplace do.

If you can't / don't want to help financially, give me a prayer. Ask God with me to do a big miracle. Or 1000 small ones.

  1. Dear Kerstin, thank you for your courage in taking on the project with the ship. I want to contribute a little bit to the big miracle and, in addition to my donation, I'll blog your cause on my Lebe leichter blog. Who knows who else would like to be a part of a miracle. I certainly would.

    1. Dear Margret, this is simply wonderful.... and maybe you'll come and visit me on the ship when it's finished. 1000 thanks for your part in the miracle!

  2. Hello Kerstin!
I also read about your boat purchase and admired you very much - it could also be „mine“ - unfortunately it's not possible... and now I read about Beate's ransom miracle - a marvellous expression in which I would like to be involved as one thousandth. I'm off to the bank on Thursday!
Kind regards from the south of Germany
    Margret

  3. Dear Kerstin,
I got to know you at the women's conference on the Nordalb last year and would like to support you in your project
How valuable are people like you who go forward with God and simply dare to create places for people where they can be and be encouraged and healed,
Be blessed for your courage to walk on water.
Having God in view will not let you sink.
    Best regards!

  4. There probably isn't a donation receipt for this, is there? Could possibly influence the willingness and amount of donations...
