Shorten winter: strengthen your immune system

Many people are tired of winter. They suffer emotionally from the darkness, but often also from colds and viruses. As Coach I know that it is harmful when people feel that they can do nothing and are at the mercy of others.
But it is not the case that we are helplessly at the mercy of the virus:
- Protection through distance: With AHA and distance, we try to prevent viruses from getting to us
- Protection through the immune system: A strong immune system helps to fight the virus effectively.
About this, like There is often little talk about how you can strengthen your immune system.
Here are my 5 best tips:
- Warm-cold: The body needs the contrast between warm and cold to build up a strong immune system. Alternating showers, sauna, cold water in the face...
- Food: As fresh and colourful as possible.
- Vitamins: In winter, especially vitamin D + K2 and vitamin C + zinc. If possible, of course, but as stores are often empty at the end of winter, also with food supplements.
- Movement: Any form of exercise strengthens the body. It doesn't have to be a big sports session. Just standing up for a minute, doing a few squats, etc. activates your immune system.
- Emotions: The four strengthening emotions also protect your immune system. Treat yourself as often as possible to situations that give you gratitude, joy, security or healthy pride. Or remind yourself of such moments. You can find out more about this in my course on Emotions.
Clearly: None of these tips alone will be able to make you 100% resistant. But they could help make you and your immune defences perhaps 1-5% stronger. That could be the crucial 5% that decides whether a stupid virus gets you or not.
