100 days of new ventures

It happens - even to me - again and again that I get stuck in a routine. Even though I'm about to take on something big, I still get caught up in the routine from time to time. That's okay. Routine is good and relieves stress. And somehow it also puts you to sleep. You eat the same food, meet the same people, go to the same places....

As I was thinking about it on Sunday, I realised that there are a lot of things I've never done before:

  • 2014-08-28 12.28.21Riding in the sidecar of a motorbike
  • Potato salad made (honest!)
  • Dancing Salsa, Hip Hop or Zumba
  • Asked a man out on a date
  • Organised a dinner for 8 (4 acquaintances, 4 new people)
  • Baked pizza (maybe once, but I've forgotten about it!)
  • Donated blood
  • Origami folded
  • Roast cooked
  • Fingernails painted red
  • Asked a beggar how he got into the situation
  • My name written in a foreign script
  • ...

Pushing boundaries a little is good for the body and soul. Having dared to try something new also strengthens your inner security. That's why I decided to set myself a challenge. To try, do and see something new every day for 100 days. I will set myself 7 tasks every week, which can usually be completed in 5 - 20 minutes. And then just do it.

100 x new ventures

  • Things are waiting to be discovered by me.
  • Movements are waiting for me to try them out
  • Places are waiting to be visited by me
  • Skills are waiting to be practised by me
  • New people are waiting to meet me

Daring to try something new together

Join in! I invite you to join in. I will be here and on Facebook  announce the tasks. You can report on what you have done here in the comments or on Facebook. The tasks are formulated in such a way that they leave room for manoeuvre. For example, "eat something new" can mean that you cook yourself or even just that you try a food or dish that has never touched your lips before.
