A simple technique to help you finally achieve your goals
Perhaps you are one of those people who have already decided to lose weight: The scales were in the red, your trousers no longer fit and your general well-being was limited. So you made a decision: "It can't go on like this! I want to lose weight!" You may have specified your goal: "I have to lose ten kilos by the start of the swimming season." Then you made a plan, learnt about healthy eating and changed a few habits. Maybe you lost weight with the help of others in a group, maybe on your own. After a few weeks or months, you've reached your goal - congratulations! Especially if you are still maintaining your desired weight today. Nothing happens?Or do you know what it's like: some topics have been on your mind for years and you can't get anywhere. There are two for me:
Most people would say: It's not that bad. And it's tidy in your house - the piles are usually sorted by topic in transparent sleeves. But I am dissatisfied. And do something. Half-heartedly. I lost a few kilos here (which later came back) and sorted out a few pieces of paper there. The result: both issues have led to dissatisfaction for me for years. I constantly had the feeling that I had to do something about it. Then I got to the point where I said: All or nothingI asked myself: How much time do I want to invest to solve the problem once and for all? For me, the answer was: 2 x 3 months. From October to December, I draw clear lines around my food: no sugar, no flour, only three meals a day (no snacking in between) and I weigh what I eat. Then the weight issue should be over and I will tackle the ship. Sort for 20 minutes every day except Sunday after work. My strategy: a list of costs and benefitsThis question helped me:"How much time/energy/money can it cost me to conquer an issue once and for all?This question really helped me to find the energy to tackle this now. I had a concrete plan, a time frame and my inner yes to it. How is it with you? What issues have you been stuck on and struggling with for years?
