Discover life: Pain-relieving oils and a little stress

Was I alive today?

Yes!

What new things have I discovered about life?

Over the last few days, I’ve been running a training course for the staff at a wonderful wellness hotel. They’re committed to providing a truly comprehensive service for their guests: body (relaxation, high-quality treatments), soul (being pampered) and mind (coaching, support), and they provide ongoing training for their staff to this end. On the one hand, I contribute to the development process, and on the other, I provide training in the field of coaching…

During the breaks in the seminar, the participating therapists shared some of their knowledge about healing oils with me.

I’ve now put together a wish list of oils (with their benefits in brackets) that I’d like to buy bit by bit:

– Peppermint (for headaches, to help you wake up, and to relieve pain, including sciatic pain)

– Lavender (skin-healing)

– Lemon (aids mental clarity)

– Basil (lifts the spirits)

– Orange (suitable as a solvent, for example if you’re a shipbuilder with paint on your hands…)

– Wintergreen (40 times more effective at relieving pain than aspirin! Relieves tension). (I’ve already got some!)

– Immortelle (helps with bruises – apparently, these can happen from time to time in shipbuilding.)

– Turmeric oil to combat inflammation and improve mental clarity (can be drizzled over food)

– Argan oil – a dream for the skin.

An overview of pain-relieving oils is available here.

On my way back from a training course, I slipped on an escalator and took a nasty fall – I was carrying my luggage, so I couldn’t break my fall properly. Luckily, I’d bought a small bottle of wintergreen oil. I applied it straight away to my aching ankles. The pain subsided surprisingly quickly. IMG_0129

What have I discovered about myself?

It stresses me out when I have to meet different expectations all at once. I need time to sort things out and figure things out. If I don’t have that time to think about which expectations I want to meet and how, it really stresses me out.
