Fit through autumn and winter: Part 1) The most effective strategies

Stay healthy!

One of my friends wrote under his e-mail. How do I stay healthy? Many people are asking themselves this as they look ahead to the coming autumn and winter.

The colder season, less sunlight, viruses and bacteria are taking their toll on our bodies. To top it all off, we still have to deal with the possibility of contracting Covid-19.

From a conventional medical point of view, there is nothing other than vaccination to prevent Covid-19. Then again, we read about a renewed increase in Covid-19 cases in countries with high vaccination rates. There is great uncertainty as to whether the vaccines really protect. In addition, there are other government-ordered protective measures such as 3G, 2G and 1G. But does this really help to stay healthy? These measures feel more like a choice between "trick or treat".

Prevention instead of frustration

There is still very little talk in the press and politics about how you can strengthen your immune system. That frustrates me.

I don't stop at this point. I like solutions. And I have solutions. My wish is for you too: Stay healthy. You can actively do something about it. That's why I'm presenting tips that anyone and everyone can do.

In the coming weeks, I will be discussing helpful measures to reduce the risk of contracting infectious diseases and COVID in particular. They are nothing new, but they are effective.

One thing is clear: none of these tips alone will be able to fight the virus completely. But they could help you and your immune defences to become stronger, perhaps 1%. These could be the crucial 1%s that decide whether or not you catch Covid 19 or another virus.

If many of us improve our defences by 1% or 5% or 10%, this could lead to an improvement in the incidence of infection and an earlier end to the pandemic. That is my hope.

So you can do something for your immune system...

... a holistic concept of the right diet and lifestyle helps your body to find and maintain its healthy balance. To do this, you should optimise your immune system

  1. not deliberately weaken it,
  2. relieve
  3. and strengthen it.

This makes your immune system strong and efficient. Your susceptibility to infectious diseases decreases. Doesn't that sound good?

Make a decision for health today

Grab a piece of paper and a pen and write a self-catering plan. Think about your personal "why". This "why" will motivate you to stick to it. Put this note up in a clearly visible place. Here is a suggestion

EXTRA TIP: Start with your gut. Our intestines are populated by a variety of bacteria that are beneficial to the body. Experts associate an imbalance in intestinal flora with numerous diseases. Certain fibres that promote the growth of the "right" bacteria help the gut and therefore your immune system. In preparation for a healthy autumn and winter, you can add lots of high-fibre foods to your shopping list today. You can find inspiration here: for your healthy shopping.

You can find a collection of tips for strengthening the immune system in my free e-book Strengthen the immune system.
