Rich friendship day
Over the last few days, I've been thinking a lot about the different ways in which my friends enrich my life (and hopefully I enrich theirs too). With some I feel more at home, with others I exchange thoughts and ideas, with others I experience many things together.
Like today with my friend Derek, who is currently visiting.... we went for coffee, then I had a mentoring conversation with someone else - afterwards we went shoe shopping - and I actually found some that were comfortable. and were cool. He is a shoe fetishist and a brilliant consultant.
Then we went to an amazing exhibition: Olafur Erikson: Inside City Outside. There was a lot of play with mirrors, light and shadow effects, for example in a room where the colourful fog was so thick that you could only see a few metres away. In another room, you could dance with your own fivefold shadow. Totally cool.
It was so inspiring that we couldn't help but pray for each other and ask God for all the good things we wanted for each other. In the middle of the exhibition rooms. And why not?.
At the Academy of Arts, we relaxed a little and took some time to pray for blessings. We then played with giant soap bubbles in front of the Reichstag. Finally, we ended the wonderful, full but not exhausting day in a classy restaurant in the main railway station with a view of the illuminated Federal Chancellery and a 2-minute mini walk along the Ku'damm. At the very end there was a mini firework display...but we hadn't planned that at all.

A boyfriend who is a shoe fetishist - Kerstin, you are to be envied!!! My husband considers it a great proof of love when he goes shoe shopping with me. And it is, because even I sometimes find it too exhausting to find the right shoes!
It's great that you were able to spend such a brilliant day with a loved one.
Unfortunately I only see my boyfriend about once a year...so I've stocked up on shoes for the whole year...(ok, not quite...need a few more elegant/comfortable shoes for business events). I find finding shoes SUPER exhausting...most of the time it doesn't work....Thanks for sharing....
elegant AND comfortable - that's really, really hard to find
