Discover life - you can feel the depth

2013-05-04 12.06.52- Was I alive today?

Yes!

The best moment was when my father (who had just become a straw widower) called me and asked: - "Kerstin, what should I put in the salad?"

"Vinegar."
"I already have."
"Olive oil"
"It's empty. Does sunflower oil also work?"
"Yes, and then salt and pepper."
"Yes - can I also put tuna and tomatoes in it?"
"Yes!"He has NEVER made salad for himself in his entire life. I thought it was nice to be able to accompany him.

- What new things have I discovered about life?

What touches deeply often has to do with deep experiences. Yesterday I listened to Don Moen's worship music on YouTube. His song "God will make a way" touches me every time I hear it. He told the story of the song at a concert. He had just learnt that his sister and brother-in-law had been involved in a road accident. A young man had driven into the side of their car. Their youngest son was killed instantly, the others seriously injured.

In his confusion, helplessness and pain, the words from Isaiah 43 came to his mind: "God will make a way, where there seems to be no way...." God will make a way where there seems to be no way.
The song was born from the depths. I felt that every time I heard it....I am grateful to now know the story behind it.
- What new things have I discovered about myself?

How I start the day shapes the whole day. Yesterday morning - it was a public holiday - I dawdled around quite a bit and then didn't really get going all day. It wasn't bad, I fiddled and rummaged around....but I realised that how I start the day shapes the hours that follow.

  1. But it's precisely when you're allowed to let yourself go (for once, mind you) that you gain the strength to carry on later in a targeted way. and you've also tidied yourself up inside and out. we also need to be allowed to let go from time to time.
