I invite you to change your life...and accompany you

I am currently fascinated by a quote from the Apostle Paul. He writes to his friends in Thessalonica

God preserve you, that you may be blameless in spirit, soul and body. - 1 Thessalonians 5:23

I am touched by the fact that the great apostle is not only concerned with the spiritual well-being of his readers, but that for him spirit, soul and body belong inseparably together.

Even back then, he knew that we needed strength in all three areas to do well:

  • Spirit: Lived spirituality - cultivating our connection to God.
  • Soul: healthy inner life - emotional and mental joy and strength.
    Body: Holistic health - caring for our bodies.

How nice it would be if we were actually doing well on all levels!

But such an all-round programme can also be perceived as challenging. This was obviously also the experience of Paul's addressees - otherwise they would probably not have needed prayer.

And as a coach, I naturally like to ask questions.

How could you find more well-being?

Dreaming
I find it helpful to dream first: What would it look like if I were completely well in mind, body and soul? What would be the optimum well-being for me?
Once you have created a lively, attractive image inside, you can then take stock:

  • How is my mind, my soul, my body?
  • What is good? What is difficult for me?

And only then think concretely:

  • What would I like to change?
  • What can and will I start with?

Analyse
Scales from 0 (bad) to 10 (excellent) can also be helpful.
Draw a scale for each area - a line with numbers from 0 to 10 - and fill it in:

  • Current status: Where am I standing right now? Make a note of it: What characterises this state?
  • Desired state: Where would I like to be in the near future? Mark the point on the scale, add the date and describe in keywords what characterises the improved state.
  • Ideas: Write down 10 possibilities that will take you from your current state to your desired state. Select 1 to a maximum of 3 that you want to realise.
