The God who knows my heart
Yesterday I sat down with the boat builder Helge, who is supporting me with the boat project. We discussed the work - and costs (!!) for the next two months. In addition to the huge item of rent / electricity / service for 10 months totalling 8000+ euros, there are also
- Wood for the floor in the main room: €1000
- Waterproof wall panels for shower and WC: €500
- Pipes / installation material for heating: 2000 €
- Storage tank for hot water from solar and oven: 2500 €
- Pellet stove with water heating: 3000 €
- Total (including labour costs and „odds and ends“): approx. € 20,000 by the end of February
I realised that I couldn't actually manage this on my own with the resources available to me (publishing house, coaching, renting out rooms, selling second-hand items). And I got weak-kneed and scared again. Even though I've seen it work out time and time again over the 30 months of construction and God has performed miracles big and small, I'm not really cool in the face of such numbers and challenges.
This morning, before my prayer time, I had the strong inner impulse that I should „I am with you“ a devotional book that I usually only pick up very rarely. In the section for today it said:
You are surrounded by a sea of problems, but you live in personal contact with me, your peace: as long as you keep your eyes on me, you are safe. But if you keep your eyes on the countless problems that surround you for too long, you will sink under the weight of your burdens. Just call out „Help me, Jesus“ when you start to sink and I will pull you out.
The biblical passage I quoted touched me once again.
Do not worry about anything! But in all things let your requests be made known to God in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4, 6+7
This is actually part of the ABCs of faith and our relationship with Jesus: turning our gaze away from what burdens us and towards Him, who loves and cares for us. Thank you, Jesus, for the reminder. I did the thing about calling for help straight away.
Still a practical idea: A mini thing you can help me with: On the right side of the blog is a link to Amazon. If you shop there anyway, please use this link - then I will receive 5% commission from your purchase. That's good for you.
i read „i am with you“ every day and exactly this passage this morning also touched me very much...all the best !!!
Kerstin, when I click on the Amazon link, only an Amazon search page appears and I have to log in. Is that correct? And do you also get commission for the entire Amazon purchase, i.e. also for books that you have not written? (Simply because you have the Amazon link on your site)
Then I would always go through your site when I order something. And one of your books is included anyway. I've already got my eye on one in particular :)
I wish you all the best for your boat! A small paypal transfer is also on the way (even if it's not much, but I think every cent will hopefully help you)
Best regards! Noreen
Yes, Amazon is pretty smart, if you go through the link, then all the orders you make are registered... that's really good...
Amazon wants 50% and more discount from publishers...if you order a book from us there, that's ok, in general we ask that you make larger purchases directly from us in the shop, because more stays with us (with Amazon almost nothing).
Oki, then I'll do it right away with the order :) Best regards! Noreen
