I'm writing a book - it's going to be an illustrated reader

When I counted it on my hands, I realised: The good life is book no. 10 from my pen. I found it so impressive that I had to take a deep breath.

My first attempts at writing

I wrote my first book at the age of 13 - or at least I started to. I didn't get beyond one and a half pages back then. But you have to start somewhere.

When I was at school, I published a book of poems with friends - photocopies of our works. Bound by hand and decorated with paper that we coloured with oil paints in the bathroom sink. There are things you only tell your parents years later.

The Egg parabolas, as we called the opus, didn't make it any further than the first „edition“, which we gave to friends and relatives for Christmas. Unfortunately, poetry is not so popular.

I didn't end up publishing another completely finished book because when I was finished I felt that it wasn't mature enough and not „me“.

The fourth attempt was successful. Swing. Your life in balance was my first book to be written and printed. And it has now even gone through several editions. As my first work, it will probably always have a special place in my heart.

I have also written in recent years:

And now No. 10

It was clear: No. 10 is something special. And so was the fact that I celebrated my 50th birthday this year.

One of my basic sentences, which I wrote about in the book, is: Celebrating means emphasising the special.

Something special doesn't have to be something big. In the book, I describe an encounter with a robin at close quarters - something very special for me.

The fact that this is my 10th book and the reason for writing it is my  50th birthday, which I celebrated really thoroughly, I felt that this was sufficient reason not only to publish pure text, but also to turn it into an illustrated text volume.

I'll tell you exactly how we proceeded with the design in the next few days.
