The ship has an advent calendar

20141126_totalAdvent is a time that reminds us that many things in life are processes. Some things happen quickly... but for many developments, growth steps are necessary. Even Jesus was not simply beamed down to earth, but grew up in his mother's womb. I find that comforting - especially when Processes take too long. And patience is required. „Most people overestimate what they can achieve in a year - and underestimate what they can achieve in seven years.“ is one of my favourite quotes - because it does me so much good to remind myself that development takes time and patience is required.

It's precisely because it's not always easy for me to be patient that looking at intermediate steps is so good for me. That's why I like Advent wreaths - first one, then two, then three, then four... and Advent calendar... 24 little encouragements along the way... For this Advent I have been given three Advent calendars. From people who know that I love this... (ok... it's an open secret)... One is a beautiful door-opening card calendar, the other is a little box with lots of little surprises that I can reach into every day.

And the third: An advent calendar for the ship. It comes from Susanne Tauber from precious design and is a present for the ship and me... and invites you to join in. The ship is just over 2/3 finished. The outside doors are in, the bathroom built, the walls in the living room and kitchen panelled, electricity laid... a lot has happened.

And there's still a lot missing: lamps, flooring, tiles and much more. Every day, a little door reveals what the ship could do with... if you like, you can donate it to the ship... the easiest way is via the Paypal button on the right or via Betterplace - This can also be done anonymously. Or in the traditional way with a bank transfer. I can't wait to see what will accumulate on the ship's gift table over the Advent period. And of course - if your budget is not enough to cover the entire amount needed, the ship - and its owner - will also be happy to receive a portion. Every little helps.

Next Advent I want to celebrate on the ship... I'm looking forward to it!

I will do so in the happy memory that, after a few hardships and challenges, perseverance and the help of many great people ultimately lead to the goal.

The door for today:
